Fire destroys Wolfeboro grocery store

Reports have it that a fire has destroyed a grocery store at Wolfeboro.

In a video shared online, black smoke could be seen billowing out of Hunter’s Shop ‘n Save on South Main Street, right across from Lake Winnipesaukee Monday night.

Some bystanders disclosed that after the grocery store caught fire, it started with a cloud of thick smoke coming out from the entrance and they want to make sure everyone was okay. The Wolfeboro Town Hall is also located in the area.

The Wolfeboro fire chief in an interview told News 9 that no one was in the building when the fire started and there are no injuries.

The Wolfeboro grocery store is said to have employed seventy (70) people and closes at 8 pm. The Wolfeboro Fire Chief said some people in the area may notice discoloration in their water. If that happens, he suggests getting in touch with the water department.
