Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett was furious with cops who arrested him in January, blaming officers for ruining his reputation. The 25-year-old athlete was busted in Dallas, Texas, in the early hours as police responded to a 911 call from a woman complaining that Bennett was banging on her door. Video of the arrest from the Dallas Police Department obtained by TMZ shows Bennett appearing to be uncooperative before criticizing the officers after being placed in the back of a squad car.

Aidan Ralph was arrested on charges of sexual assault on his girlfriend while she lay immobile after he shoved her so hard into stairs in his home that she fractured her spine. Following his arrest, Ralph has been dismissed from the team and he is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on May 15. He could face up to 12 years in prison if convicted. Aidan Ralph is a 20-year-old redshirt sophomore from Chicago.

It makes sense that when you're as rich as Ken Griffin, founder and CEO of asset management firm Citadel, you'd have much more than a passing interest in the study of economics. The Associated Press reports on Griffin's latest effort to pay that interest forward, in the form of an extremely sizable gift to the economics department at the University of Chicago. The University of Chicago announced that Griffin cut a $125 million check to its own Department of Economics, a gift that ranks as the second largest donation in the entire history of the university.

A convicted double murderer has learnt his fate after he kicked a prison guard, the second assault he’s carried out during his lifetime jail sentence. Scott Geoffrey Maygar, 37, was sentenced in Brisbane District Court on Monday after he seriously assaulted a prison officer trying to prevent him from taking his own life in his jail cell. Maygar, who is serving life in prison for a 2005 double murder, appeared via video link from jail wearing his prison uniform and his tattooed sleeve clearly on show on Monday.
